Welcome to the Lexington Yacht Club! We are a non-profit, registered yacht club compromised of individuals having a mutual interest in boating for pleasure. In addition, we encourage proper seamanship and navigation of pleasure boats.
The club was founded in 1964 by charter members: William R. Engle; Howard L. Colyer; Fred E. Fugazzi; David H. Griffith; Jack Howard; Rovelle C. Choate; and Roger Williams.
Our club burgee is a pennant, triangular in shape, having blue in the lower half and white in the upper half and superimposed within the upper half of a red circle enclosing a white, five pointed star.
CLUB MEMBERSHIPS AND DUES
Prospective members may be nominated by a club member by completing a Prospective Membership Questionnaire. Prospective members must attend at least one club event prior to being recommended for membership. Once paperwork has been completed and approved by the Commodore, a membership committee will make recommendations for membership to the board.
ADDITIONAL CLUB MEMBERSHIP PERKS
In addition to socializing with a fun group of people, the Lexington Yacht Club is affiliated with the Yachting Club of America, which has reciprocity of Yacht Clubs in the United States. The club treasurer can provide members with a listing of these clubs.
Also, club members can join BOAT/U.S. or renew their membership at a special group rate. BOAT/U.S. has a wide range of equipment, special services and membership programs which may assist boat owners.
